Because In Texas, Even the LIBERALS Are Fascists

I can't tell you how fucking angry I got after reading this. What the fuck are these assholes thinking? "Duh, gee, we gotta make it intimate and appwopwiate for tewevithion, so we can't have it in a big pwace." Bullshit--they televised LiveAid, where there were 100,000 people, for God's sakes. They ought to be able to pull this off with less stress. You don't have to show the whole audience, dickhead.

The Keystone Kops circus clowns organizers of this event seem to have forgotten the long, long history of grassroots politics in the Democratic Party of Texas. This ain't a $500-per-plate fundraiser kind of state--if you want that, stay in fucking New York or Boston. This event ought to be open to the people who they're trying to suck up to, don'tcha think?? What kind of message is this going to send to your few allies in an otherwise conservative state? Do you want to piss them off so badly that they'll figure the Dems are no better than the conservatives and not even go to the trouble of voting in November?

Here's a lil' tip: that "lesser of two evils" thing only works when it IS, in fact, the lesser of two evils. Not so much when the evils match.

You can always count on the democratic party to bungle things.

Frankly, I don't know why anyone really wants to attend a debate where no debating takes place. Plus, I'd rather watch it at a bar.

True...and actually so would I (if I even watched at all)...but to come right out and tell your citizens up front, "sorry, you're not allowed at our party" is begging for trouble.

And it's not like they have to look very far there...

Will Rogers said, "I'm not a member of any civilized party, I'm a Democrat!" I heard that Obama doesn't really want to debate at all. He's afraid they will ask why he won't say the Pledge of Allegiance and why his biological father is in Africa and abandoned him long ago. Or even worse who he would put on his cabinet. I so want a Democrat to win but if my only choice is Obama I'll stay home on election day. Ed

I don't know how Hillary would rebut any answer Obama gave about his dad living in Africa. It seems like it's more of a "View" question than one that would be in a debate.

Stay home and not vote!!! Oh, Ed, tough it out. Do your part to keep McCain or, gasp, Huckabee out of office.

Ed, I second Sarah...even if our choice is the lesser of the evils, remember how EVIL those evils are. And all sarcasm aside, either Hillary or Obama would do better things for this country than YET ANOTHER RIGHT-WING WARHAWK who keeps bankrupting us so they can play with their Army men...or a fascist neo-con who thinks he can decide how we should be forced to live our lives and teach our children. (Here's a hint: someone who's never opened his mind outside the South? Not a good choice for President.)
