Sometimes, Spitfire Backfires

Okay, I really have wanted to ignore this Wright thing because I think it's bullshit. Why couldn't Obama have done the Madonna nude pictures response ("I don't care.") and left the media hanging without her shame and remorse. But he didn't and if he tried the media won't be denied it's scandal anymore. That said...

Fuck NU! They're having Springer but are sending Wright packing. Of these two men who has given more of his life to help the downtrodden members of our society? Which one has exploited the poor and uneducated for the amusement of middle class college students and teenagers? Which one has tried to help the community in which he resides? Which man has more wisdom to pass on to America's future? OMG...I think I have to blog about this subject now. Sarah

Actually, I don't think the honorary doctorates get a chance to speak...at least they didn't when I was in school (Betty Friedan got one at my graduation--she never said a word! :-))...so Wright may not have had a chance to speak and share his wisdom anyway.

He's a good minister by all accounts--a little flaky and extreme at times, but at least he's caring--but I wish he'd never said those things during that conference. That just ruined everything. Sadly, the "haughty high ground" NEVER works in the individual's favor if the media has pre-determined that it won't. That's also why Obama couldn't just let it ride. If he had, opportunists would have said, "We think he's hiding something."

And all this is going to create a shitstorm of controversy during which McCain could smuggle nuclear warheads into his house if he wanted, and nobody would be paying attention.

Fucked up priorities...

The latest polls show Hillary taking the lead in Indiana and they say it is because of the Wright controversy. It isn't so much what he said but that he makes it more apparent that Barack is black. Hoosiers are shallow that way. Hillary's latest ad says Barack is against repealing the gas tax this summer. Barack's reply: It would save $28.00 a year and is a smoke screen to make people believe that Washington is doing something until after the election. In other words business as usual. Washington needs to be changed and I add let it begin with me. Ed

Even McCain admits that the repeal of the gas tax won't do much...so Hillary if she's attacking Obama on THOSE grounds, she's gonna run out of ammo really soon...
