Color Us All Stunned - April 22, 2008 Edition

What I find the most laughable is that none of these commentators seemed to be at all skeptical about the briefings before they happened. I mean, come on, it’s a briefing about the Iraq War. From the Pentagon. Which works for the President. Who wants to war to go on forever.

The quotes sound like they’re coming from people who are genuinely surprised that the Pentagon misled them. Where have they been living? In France with Johnny Depp?

If you can be this stupid, not that attractive, and still have a great career in the media, then I should never have given up so easily after college…

So they felt they'd been hosed? How the Hell do they think we've felt for the last 8 years? There are still Republicans like my sister and brother that believe the Iraqis attacked us on 9/11. I mean they were under a no fly zone and couldn't find there way to the US if it were printed on a camels ass.
Another thing, while I'm all steamed up, why the hell is everyone upset about Obama not wearing a flag on his lapel and not about Mrs. McCain supplying most of the U.S. with Booze? Also, she refused to reveal her taxes. Think what would have happened if a Democrat tried that. It was read by Brian Williams on NBC (GE) with a straight face. "Mrs. McCain inherited the largest beer distributorship in the United States and said that it's profits are for her children and nobody's business". Ed

I can't answer the first part, but as for the second, it's probably because in doing so, she keeps them all happily drunk and oblivious, which they prefer.

She's frosty and mannequin-like. She looks like the old lady on the cover of Styx's "Pieces of Eight" album.

Have only read part of the article but isn't it disturbing that the press didn't produce this sort of work in 2002.

Actually, Theresa Heinz refused to reveal her tax returns during the 2004 election.

Wouldn't it be weird if it was Cindy McCain on the Styx album?

Of course that's not as weird as your relatives believing Iraq attacked us on 9/11, Ed. How far do you throw the IQ ratio when you are at family gatherings? Sarah

Sarah: Theresa Heinz DID refuse to reveal her tax returns--you're right! And Kerry lost. I can only hope that the same fate befalls the Beer Baron.

I'd probably like Cindi better if that WAS her on the cover of that album...but she'd only have been about 24 then (unless she just refused to moisturize :-))

The thing is though that the ultra-christian fundamentalists that used to be called the moral majority, (remember them) believe tht they have the moral high ground and all Democrats are evil beer drinkers. The Southern Baptists and the Pentecostals do not drink beer and believe anybody who even sells it has a slide straight to Hell. Now what? How can they vote for a guy who's wife is aiding and abetting drunk drivers? I think it would be funny but am afraid the hypocrites will still vote for McCain even though they have been condemning Hillary for drinking beer and Obama for going into a bar. (Nick's English Hut-Bloomington, In.) I've tossed a few back there myself. Ed

That's the worst of hypocrites...they're usually WORSE than the people they condemn specifically to draw attention AWAY from themselves...if they were really Christians, they wouldn't be supporting Bush, either, because he's A.) stubbornly keeping us in this war, putting our kids in harm's way; and B.) desecrating the planet with his shitty energy policies.

But it's easier to just drive their SUVs to church on Sunday and wear funny hats than to actually LIVE The Word...
