Since Real Life Is Too Scary to Deal With Right Now, Let's Look at Some of the Bogeymen that Scared Us Back When We Had Nothing Better To Worry About

This movie trailer scared the shit right outta me when I was 9...

I imagine it's probably required viewing in the Streisand/Brolin household. Along with reruns of "Hotel" and "Marcus Welby M.D."

Get out! My friends and I went to that on opening night because it looked so fabulously bad. It didn't disappoint.

I saw this trailer around the same time I saw "Jaws." Since I'd been so traumatized by "Jaws" (after BEGGING my mother to take me to see it until she gave in), she wasn't about to make that mistake twice...therefore, I've never seen this in its entirety.

I've put it on my Netflix queue, however...I figure I'm old enough now!

I've never seen this movie but I did see one with a big rig (what Hoosiers call an 18 willer) that was pretty bad. That Lincoln Continental was the perfect choice for a killer car. I truly enjoyed Stephen King's similar movie "Christine" a 1958 Plymouth Fury with a streak of jealousy. ed

We didn't know what kind of car it was when I was a kid...since I only saw the commercial, the one I saw didn't show the whole thing and I only saw the front end. We thought it was a Buick Riviera (since in the early 70s, they had that sort of sinister, low-brow front end). I did read the book when I was 12. It was actually better than the movie and had a better ending too!

A few months ago some friends of mine had a movie night and watched this. It's pure uncut shlock... I loved it.

And I too can just picture James making Babs watch this while they are eating potato chips. Babs of course will fall asleep before the end with James nudging her saying, "Honey, this is my big end scene , it's the good part..."
